I use a dremel outside the tank for anything with a solid base. Or small jobs a standard razor blade at the rock underneath the zoa. Bone cutters work great for getting at the live rock. I know if I were you I'd nuke the gsp nothing but trouble unless on a rock in the sand by itself.

Yeah....Ive been thinking about that. I think Ill try to chisel it off the rock when I get the zoa off. Ill let you know how it goes...

Great job. What did you use? Also always wear eye protection and keep your mouth closed when cutting coral. Once you get some propagation tools it will be easier. Lots if sites sell kits. I just kinda do it my way and it works no prob yet. My buddy cuts his chalice with a dremel and a diamond bit. Does an amazing job.

I didnt frag it. I just got if off the rock. I slid a razor blade up underneath it and pried it off. I dont think Ill frag it until it fully recovers. The membranes were attached to the rock, so some of the polyps died, but the main pieces polyps are already back out, so Im sure it will be fine :) How would you go about removing the GSP? I was thinking remove the rock, drill holes around the piece, then chisel out a piece of the rock with the colony.

It will sometimes peel off like a mat. Are you trying to keep the gsp? If not just scrape it off outside of tank than rinse off in a lil container of salt water. If your trying to keep it I'd try peeling it off.

Ah, I doubt Ill be able to scrape it off...Its on there like concrete. I dont just want to scrap it. Id prefer to put it on a separate rock, or I could just get a new tank :D
