MP 40 Issue

I decided to start switching over my powerheads to my gen 2 mp40's and im having issues.And im either really dumb or something is wrong...:doh:

Every time i set them up, the magnet doesnt seem to align with head one hundred percent. Ive tried removing the rubber covering as welll but it still wont function correctly. When i turn it on, the unit actually slide downs the glass thus causing me to have to cut it off. My glass is 1/2 thick and starfire, tank built by chris so i would assume it wouldnt be an issue of thickness. What else could it be? Magnet defective within the head?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Did you adjust the pin spacer for the tank thickness? Directions are here:

Thanks, i had to replace as it i read that earlier but the previous owner had it wrong.
