MRC MR2 Skimmer Question

Love the skimmer. For those of you with them I was wondering if this is common.

I do a total clean up about once/month. It seems to take 24/48 hours to get back to a good foam column and skimming as when I tore it down.

Is that typical?

My experience is similar to Charlie. I had not thought of keeping the recirc and feed going when I clean, but may try that trick next. I clean the neck and cup weekly and usually have good foam in a few hours too. I just wipe out the neck with damp paper towels and wipe and rinse out the cup.
