I am fairly new to saltwater tanks and this forum. I am in Atlanta for the weekend and will have about 4 hours to visit a LFS. Looking for one that has a lot of fish and corals. Don't mind traveling north or south of city !!

Sea Atlanta Hands down.

Also check out our Sponsor page.

Nemos is also a good one

Marine Designs.....they have a 500 gal display tank that's the nicest I've seen. And lots of fish and corals.

Pure Reef is the best in town. Largest selection and great people. Hands down the best all around lfs in Atlanta.

I live in NE Atlanta, and I REALLY like:

1) Marine Designs
2) Atlanta Aquarium
3) Pure Reef
4) SEA

All three are great, and are relatively close to one another. If you can only hit up 4 stores, I would suggest going up I-85, and hit Atlanta Aquarium, SEA, Marine Design, and finally Pure Reef. From there, you can go down GA 400 back into the ATL.

Atlanta has some great options, but you just can't go wrong with these 4!

I second this suggestion. You can get this dine pretty easily in 4 hours.

If you are just going to look

Creations Reef
Marine Design
Sea Atlanta

When you are ready to buy some frags hit up Deep Blue.

If I had to suggest only one I would have to go with Pure Reef. They have some very nice display tanks plus a very nice and varied coral and fish selection.

I would suggest to go the sponsor page and look and choose.

I have been to a lot of them and each one has its own value to its area. I have been to the one in Newnan, its ok but for the distance I could hit all the ones on the 75n area outside of 285. I have yet to find the all-around value store. Some have better prices on equipment and peripherals and others have really good prices on fish and some have good prices on corals. And some are areas that the people just have too much money and don’t care what they send.

Sorry I did not say which LFS as I don’t want to turn this into a vendor bashing post but you would need to state you reasons for the visit but if it were me and wanted to kill a day you can start early and hit all of them and make notes then go back to the ones you found the best value. That way you can plan you spending attack. This is what I should have done on some items. I paid 60.00 for something in one LFS and in another one it was 40.00. So window shopping has its value.

Then you have the, it’s here and I pass it every day and don’t want to waste the time and gas value stores. Why save 20.00 if you have to drive 1 hr extra and spend 15.00 in gas.

You can map all of them real easy. I have yet to go to pure reef, went past it a couple of months ago while driving for work before I knew where it was at. Went past Sea Atlanta couple of times and just went there Thursday but I don’t understand what all the hyp is about, nuff said.

Sorry this to be so long and honestly 4hrs is not long enough but if that’s all you have.
