i have a green candy cane and it is melting away at its base. the only levels i have that i could see as a prob. is PO4 is 0.1, DKH is less then 5, my nitrates are 20, also have green alien eye zoo about 4 inches away and the coral is held i place with aqua mend. my lighting is 2 250w MH in a 135 tank. any thoughts.

Melting or dissolving/rotting? Melting could be that it's just splitting a polyp.

they seem to be shriveling up from the base exposing there white skeleton. the tops are still green and puffed out but not as big as it was. could water flow or too much light cause this.

Too much flow will cause them to warp and deflate... Splitting causes them to look like they are melting... My only concern is that Alk reading you should get your dkH up SOON but as safe as you can.

my candy canes do really well under my 175w MH lights....but I keep them at the very bottom. I also had one head start to show the skeleton and it healed on its own. All I did was water changes.
