Hey guys,

I am a bit torn on whether my clarkii clown is sick or not. he has these perfectly round splotches (not grain size, but disc size) that are on a part of his body. Normal eating and everything else. The other clown doesn't have this discoloration, hence I noticed. Wetwebmedia says it is either age spots or something tangs get called black spot. Thoughts?

I posted in your other thread...they should eventually go away if your fish is not stressed.

The reason I ask is because some people have made the argument that clowns will try to host in frogspawns and they get stung by them which is were the black spots come from. It may not be exclusive to frogspawns and may apply to other corals. This is not scientificly proven but is a theory.

I have a frogspawn that my clown started hosting in and sure enough he now has black spots......I have also read that the balck spots can be a bause of two clowns fighting for dominance and as you said earlier age.

If he is eating well, swimming well, and acting normal I wouldnt worry about it much.
