My foxface is eating my toadstool leather

It was looking rough and I figured that it was just "in a mood" or something until I saw it nipping at it. Worst of all it appears that he has taught my sailfin to do it too. I'm putting seaweed on the clip as often as I can. Unfortunately these fish are like my cat. They only get interested when it's fresh, then the forget after a few minutes.

Any ideas? I was thinking of building a cage out of eggcrate or something similar. This really sucks because this has been one if not my best growing (without being a pest) and biggest coral. Pics soon.

The issue is see with egg crate is it will block light and maybe slow the flow down a little. Maybe an acrylic tank divider or diy acclimation style box surrounding it.
My toadstool is my biggest and best growing as well. I'd be upset about that too.
