My Green Mushroom Corals BLOOMED!

Hey guys,

Bought some mushroom corals from a PETCO (I know I should have gotten free frags, but the offer was too good to pass up).

They contracted when I got them but they expanded to the point where they have covered the entire rock they were on. (I'll see about pics).

I had heard that it takes days or weeks for coral to acclimate to a new environment. I guess I have some special water.

Anybody have any free frags for me so that I may continue? Especially those in the Lawrenceville area?

One thing about getting frags from store like that-

I needed some cheap coral to test a 55 I had just coverted to a reef for a client so I went to a store(not named) to get 3 coral frags to test the water. I got to my client, and tested the specific gravity of the bag water. It was 1.031 whereas the tank was 1.023. If I had not taken the time to test and acclimate, the frags surely would have died from the sudden shift. I checked them 3 days later and they had all doubled in size with terrific polylp extension.

The only reason I'll buy from places like that, is because I know what I'm getting into when I do. Not all, but a lot of those stores do a great disservice to the hobby, turning away potential hobbiest with almost certain failure.
