Well after 6 mths it is coming together

6 mths ago I had a few sheets of glass and some timber
Today I have the below in my home work office in the basement

It is not the prettiest, especially my siliconing and plumbing, and it has taken a long time - lots of leaks to overcome and still one I can not get to the bottom off

But for now it is cycling

I have used left over artificial coral I had and to start I am going to go fish only - like puffer, lion etc
My other 75g reef will remain

I designed the stand so I can remove the entire front panel and have unobstructed access

My salt water mixing station is 100ft away, outside the house and piped into the sump - this provides drain to do water changes and supply of top-up and salt water for the water change - yeah no bucket carrying

The sump I built myself from some acrylic sheets I got from ebay, it is around 40 x 24 x 16

The tank itself has a coast-to-coast overflow consisting of 3 1.5" drains, the tank is 48 x 24 x 31 - 1/2" glass

I would like to add some 1" wye valves on the return lines - but they are so expensive

My outstanding leak is an issue - I can not locate it. The entire outside of the tank is dry and all bulk heads are dry. It is small. underneath the tank and above the sump I am seeing 1 drop of water every few mins. It is seeping along a beam of wood and eventually dripping above the sump - so on one hand great no water loss, but given it is running along some beam and the outsides of the tank are dry I can only assume it is in the worst possible place and that being from the bottom glass - the only way I see of fixing it is to completely strip everything down and remove all sand. - Something I very much do not want to perform

Given how slow the leak is, my thought is the leave it and hope the salt water will eventually build up and self-block it

hmmmm...
on the leak thing...

do you think it is condensation ?

if it is an actual leak I would get it solved while the tank is still young.
The longer it goes ... the bigger the chance that a seam will pop.. then... SPLASH.

IMO break things down so you can find the leak.
You'll sleep better.

It seems to have cleared up. It has been dry for last few days.

I have some damsels and crabs in it now and all seems to be doing well
