Ok the major compoments and systems are in!! Right now the RO/DI is running full throttle..should take 2 days or so to fill all compartments.

But here it is.....my little Kent skimmer looks pretty dinky next to this guy now.

I must give 100% credit and 1000% THANKS to Simon Kruger...for without his knowledge, insight, cunning, and overall Limey attitude this could not have been accomplished.

Well done my GOOD friend..I am forever indebted to you. Find a coral or 2 you want anywhere and it's yours.... plus beer..:)

Todd

With Beer in hand...notice the calcium reactor I got from you a while ago...

Yeah, I'd be doing that too!

I did notice the reactor as well as the skimmer. When's the last time you used one of them?

Just my existing 90G.....It's going to have ALOT more water water now :)

Hi Todd,

It was my pleasure dude. Payment not required. However how the hell do you get that purple stuff off your hands. Only joking. I hope it works and does what you want it to.

I think I have a spare 1000Watt heater (without controller) you can use to do the initial heat up. After that a 500Watt should do it for you for the summer period. Its upto you, its here for you if you need it.

I need it, I can't find a 500 watter on the internet....only 350's...there was one 1000 watter at Marine Depot... $134 with controller.

Will be by this afternoon if you are home.

Gracious Amigo!

That sump looks Good. Did you make that yourself?

1000 or 500 watt their pretty much both going to use the same Total amout of Watts Hour when all said and done. Only thing the 1000 watter will put more load on the curcit breaker. So if all you can find is 1000 watts it should be ok IMO.

Do you think you ll even need a chiller? I find when you have a BIG sump you dont need a chiller. You get a higher demand for heat. I guess the depends on the average room temp and floor temp...

Todd... check out http://www.aquaticeco.com/index.cfm/">http://www.aquaticeco.com/index.cfm/</a>

Chris and I both ordered heaters from them in the past.... I can't find the exact one Im using, but they'll definately have something strong enough for whatever you need. Check with Chris, he may have a direct link to the brand we used somewhere...

also check out http://www.customaquatic.com">www.customaquatic.com</a>

i brought a 500 watt heater last month from them without controller for $24

it works great in my system (500 gallons plus)...i also run 2 separate 250 watt heaters, in case 1 dies or overheats...

Thank you guys....I will check all of them...I may get kzoo's if he has not sold it...

Todd

ps...it's half filled now......by tomorrow afternoon, should be able to do a closed loop test of the system to check for leaks before I connect to the tank.

Hey Todd, can you explain a bit about how the water travels thru the sump? I couldnt quite figure out the purpose of each compartment when i saw the sump at Brett's house.

The little compartment is a RO/DI reservoir...when the chamber all the way on the right evaporates, the Tunze Osmolator kicks in and draws top off from the reservoir as needed. That reservoir has a float that will automatically fill up and shut off as needed.

The compartment next to the RO/DI and below it is the new Saltwater mixing area. When I do a water change, I will pump it out and into the main sump area. NEVER GETTING WET!!!or lifting a bucket. A mag 7 will pump it into the main sump.

You can see the aquarium return and the skimmer return dropping into the main sump. it goes down and back up and flows over the far right chamber where at the bottom has a 1100gpm pump the returns the water to the tank via the chiller. which I can bypass if i need to for servicing.

Simple!!! and NEVER get wet or lift a bucket. I also just turn a valve, and pump the waste water into the sewer system!!!!!! no siphoning !!

Todd

I bet it took me less time to draw silly pictures than it did for you to type all that :)
LOL
