My new aqua scape

I wanted to come up w something that showcased the corals instead of the rock.
I also went w a low 'scape to give a much more open aesthetic and allow for better circulation.

I decided to keep the lights I had and replace the ballasts w more powerful ones.

I added matrix to my setup a while ago, so I'm not really afraid of missing the biological support from the rock

Yeah Matrix should hold things together. Looks great man! I was running a low reef low rock for a bit, but just recently added more to raise my corals up....I'm all over the place with my tank, lol.

yea... i did think about the drop in par with them being low like that... but honestly, the corals on the bottom of the tank ALWAYS end up with better coloration. If I put them high I loose tissue color.

Those VUE 660 t5 ballasts are beast

it will be an interesting look as the fingers grow up higher... hopefully I ll have a "forrest" in a year or so....

Yeah you have to love the power of the OD 660. You'll be just fine and you will def have a forrest in no time. My birds of paradise started growing all kinds of weird when it was down low...def fun to watch the different growth patterns

I have a hawkins down on the bottom.. it will be interesting to see how it does.
