We talked about it. I've joked about it. I've posted here, lamenting about the 45 gallon undrilled tank I started with, and planned to upgrade as soon as I could. So for Christmas, my husband decided to surprise (read HO-LEE COW!! shock) me with a bigger tank. Found a deal on a used 125 gallon reef-ready setup, and brought it home on New Year's Eve. Being relatively new to the hobby, there's a LOT that I don't know. It definitely puts my mind at ease, knowing that I have the collective knowledge of my fellow ARC members at my fingertips. I will certainly be putting this invaluable resource to use, because I have about a hundred questions right out of the gate. Like, How do I start a build thread? This will be my actual Bucket List tank, and I'd like to document my progress. Who knows? It might be helpful to some other clueless new reefer in the future, and that's a nice thought.

Well first things first. What all did you get? Tank only? Stand? Full setup? Need to figure out what you have and what you need.

I guess I would consider 60-125 mid-size tanks, probably 180 and above for large. Nano up to 20 gallons and small 20-55. Go to Forums, Special Interest, Mid-Sized Tanks and start your thread, looking forward to it.

Tank, stand, 75 gallon diy-made sump tank, AquaC protein skimmer, 2 pumps, a large hob filter, 72" t5 light fixture and bulbs, 2 heaters, a tote full of rock, and another half full of sand. And a bunch of pipes and such from the previous setup.
He was told everything worked when it was taken down a couple months ago, but I have to check it to be sure. Some things may have to be replaced. And I don't know specifics for the equipment, such as the models. It's not on there and he didn't find out, so I'll be trying to look up info on it.

Good luck. Look forward to your journey!
