-------------------------------------------------------------

I am going to use this thread to post my Nano News videos where I talk about nano reef related content and highlight interesting stuff I found during the week that pertains to the reefing hobby. I'll update this thread whenever I make a new video.

I will also be using this thread for FTS submissions, so if you want to be featured in the FTS of the week, just leave your FTS in this thread with a description of your tank.

If you'd like to be auto-notified of my weekly videos and see if you made the weekly FTS, subscribe to my channel http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=Jruberti">CLICK HERE</a>

Also, how do you like the JBJ LED light? I am thinking about picking one up, but I haven't heard any reviews on coral growth, etc.

thank you

I have a review video on my YouTube channel but it's from when I just setup the light.

I've honestly grown to not like the light as much. I have had some color fading with my corals and only a few corals seem to be growing under it (mostly my acans and frogspawn) but it could all be due to my water chemistry and nothing to do with the light. I also wish the color/intensity was a little more controllable.

Yeah I'm still really mixed on the effectiveness of LED's. I am thinking about picking up an ai nano for a 15x15x15 tank... but I am still skeptical.

I appreciate the update though!

I have personally seen crazy growth under aqua illumination fixtures. Cree LEDs don't play around :D I wish the AI Nano had a better mount option because I would have gotten it over the Unibody.

Really? It doesn't easily mount on your rimless? If it can grow SPS easily in that size tank, I will definitely try it.

It would have easily mounted but since the mounting arm isn't really adjustable, the light fixture would've hung over the front of my tank. The Nano is made more for cube setups and it would be perfect for your 15x15x15 tank.

ah, thanks for the tips! I have not seen one in person, so I wasn't sure exactly how adjustable it is.

This may have just moved to the front of the line. Do you know if it is able to be programmed for specific lighting settings at specific times?

Yeah, all you need is the separate controller. If you plan on buying the Nano, then definitely make sure to get the controller. Once you turn the Nano off (without the controller) your intensity settings reset and the next time you turn your light on, the channels default to 100% (it won't do this with a controller though).

that is a bummer. they need to take a hint from the radion and get on the software route.
