Can anyone tell me what one or both of these are called?

I know that bottom picture could be a lot better, but it's the best I could get :( The skirts are green, and they have a purple/blue eye with a flesh-colored "pupil." They grow extremely fast in both systems I have them in. Under blues, the "pupil" is a cool orange color.

Thanks!

i have both and the top one was sold to me as misc zoa at nemos and the second was was sold to me as blue berry something also from nemos.

Shorthand answer - zoanthids and/or palythoas.

Now that I'm on your "settle up with at the swap" list... looking on zoaid.com yields a couple of possibles, better pics might make it easier to tell.

Upper one maybe "Flaming Sun"?
Lower one, possible "Eye of Rah"?

Doesn't help that lighting & photo retouching can significantly change what something looks like, plus different tank conditions can cause morphing at the drop of a hat. ;)

I, personally, am of the opinion that all these LE names are arbitrarily created to ensure scarcity.

So, let's called the top "Bruised Tangerines" and the bottom ....?

Ha! I'm going to be worn out before I even get to shop for corals!

I searched ZoaID for awhile yesterday before my eyes glazed over, and I'm with you: They looked similar to some I found, but (as with the Eye of Rah) in some cases it really looked like them and in others it looked [I]very</em> different.

If no one comes forward with a real name, I'm [I]totally</em> naming these something exotic and making a fortune

Hairy nipples for the bottom?

Agreed on the name-game shenanigans. The only practical value to such would be to describe the morph's coloration succinctly or to narrow down preferred conditions to achieve optimal grown/coloration. It's sad that instead all is effectively does is determine how much-per-polyp someone's gonna try to take you for.

That's why I have the Rock of Second Stringers in my tank... only ones that look like what I want, and/or are no longer "popular" enough to get slapped with a ridiculous price tag. When I look to fill in a spot, the question in my head's "what color(s) do I want here, and how large" not "I need to get some shama-lamma-ding-dangs"!

Ha! I'm the same way. Just didn't want to sell these for a song somewhere down the road only to have someone turn around and sell them for 10x more :)

Not going to be able to make it this year. :-(

Alright, since no one has a convincing name for the bottom ones, they will heretofore be known as Daphne Blakes -- or just Daphnes for short. Why? Check out how closely the colors match :)

I also loved (love) Scooby Doo.

I think the full name will be Shane Pike Limited Edition Daphne Blakes™. I'm gonna be rich
