Just received my absolutely last order from Aqua SD. Is this some kind of twisted joke at my expense?! I haven't even opened the bag, but it's lost almost all the tentacles off one head. They're floating around in the bag. What do I do with this situation? Can it be saved? Can the polyps be reattached somehow? Please advise me on this, before it sits in the bag too long and dies. 20250325_105610.jpg20250325_105548.jpg

Once the tentacle are off, there’s no reattaching them. The coral *may* be able to be saved, but will take some effort. You should just get a refund at this point and cut your losses with this company.

Dip it, put it in a low light/flow environment, and hope for the best is the only advice I can offer.

They must have someone new packing. I just last week got a delivery of torches from them, and each time I order, they put them in little plastic cages to protect the heads. The polyps being totally contracted isn't super unusual, and acclimating them and putting them in a good spot will have them opening back up in hours/days.

Definitely don't leave it in the bag. Start acclimating (not more than 30 minutes or so) and get it in your tank to try and save it. I always take the frag plug off to avoid some pests, and you can always do a dip on the coral itself.

Good luck to you!

Looked a lot like Google photos of euphyllia eating flatworms. I have no prior experience with this, but it's a pest, so of course I would encounter it at some point. Sounds negative, but I'm actually being realistic. Better to learn how to identify and deal with the problems the right way, and not totally wreck my tank with ignorance.

If it’s flatworms, I had success with doing really strong iodine dips and waiting for them to start trying to bail. Once they were visible, I manually removed with tweezers. Rinse and repeat.
