This is an artist rendition. The guys in WWM apparently didn't know what it was either.

Anyone know what this is? They feel "leathery" and do not easily release glass and rock. They don't look like any flatworm I've seen as they don't really seem to be mobile.

Gratzi.

I belivee they are snail spawn sacs. My tank has them periodically, and there are always like 5 or six in a 1.5" radius area. The mag-float will take them off.

That was my first inclination but they're not like any egg sacs I've seen before. Perhaps they have a very long incubation period but they've been around for the past 2 weeks or so.

Really? My unscraped ones "disappear" after about 5 days, at the most. But mine may be getting eaten too, I have a lot of fish.

Well egg sacs get eaten all the time... which is why this one is peculiar. They are approximately the same size and shape as a nassarius snail egg sac. Definitely very different though in texture and opacity.

Jin is growing some sort of mutated wrass in his tank... It is going to sit back and watch TV with him on the 84" screen!!!

For futurereference, these I believe are nerite snail eggs. So, I think Jeremy was right! :)

I have them as well on the glass and I believe if you dig a little deeper on WWM you will find that they are indeed snail eggs.

I just know you are going to leave them for curiosity's sake.

Hopefully they will hatch while you are viewing the tank and not in the middle of the night.

I have a strong suspicion that we miss seeing most of the really interesting things that transpire in our tanks.
