I don't know what it is but I don't think nassarius...I've never seen a nassarius with a dark shell. All of mine that I've ever had all have white shells. I'm guessing that has to do with them spending most of their time under the sand.

The the single antenna thingy and the striped shell may indicate it's related though. But again, I can't say that I know the specific species.

I am FAR from a snail expert, but I have gotten some small Nassarius from Keen Reef which had dark shells. Vibex, I think.

Again, I too am no snail expert. I mean it does look like a nassarius from the looks of it, I'm just not sure on the coloring.

Rockdog nailed the ID I believe it is a Whelk as well, but the Whelk is the one on the right not the Left. The one with the stripped nose is the Whelk. Read the post from Melvs site rockdog linked.. Not a Clam friendly snail.

You are right! I was haveing one of my MANY dyslexic moments. Sorry for the confusion...

Looks like a nassarius snail to me. They come in many variations.

If it's a whelk, it should go. If it's a nassarius, it's fine to stay.
