Need ID...

I've noticed several of these have shown up on one of my rocks, and I'm hoping one of you can help me ID them. Kind of look like a mushroom to me, they have a dark red, raised border, with a green'ish center and white markings on the green. The larger ones are about ¼" in diameter right now.

Any ideas??

What ever they are, they look neat. It's hard to tell, but my first thought was mushroom or blasto.

Thanks, Dylan...I'm curious to see what they turn out to be as they get bigger. I haven't added any rock or anything, so they are something that has apparently been dormant for a while and decided to finally grow. There's about 15 of them on that one rock.

With where they're located, it's really awkward to get a good picture...kind of hold the camera over there and hope for the best. This is one of the better shots I just got...

yea those are some interesting mushrooms. i dont think ive ever seen any with a border around the outside like that lol. in the first pic i almost thought they looked like candy canes or blastos but that second pic is much clearer. good "work" on randomly growing them lol and congrats on the neat find

The one on the top looks like it's splitting, it's got two mouths. My shrooms leave turd babies rather than split. They do look cool, and I'd love one for my nano if you get to removing them!

I tried to get some video of me touching them. When touched, they close up like a zoa, the outer edge rolls in, and no calcerous skeleton that I can feel. You can sort of see it in the video...sorry for the quality, it's a very difficult location.

Figured I would check back in with these to see if anyone had any other guesses as to their ID. Several of them have grown some more, but I still can't seem to find anything online that resembles one.

Here's a couple new pics, from tonight, of the ones which are showing the most growth. The red ring around them is beginning to look inflated.

Looking more like a blasto. The skeltons around it also point to a blasto.

In looking back at some old pictures, I came across a pic of a coral colony I picked up from a local member here in WR and he wasn't sure what it was, but it was kinda cool looking, so I took it. He was thinking it might be a war coral, but was not positive. Unfortunately, it didn't last in the setup I had at that time (crappy lighting), so it became just another piece of LR in my tank.

Fast forward to today, I just realized, these mystery corals are on the bottom side of that piece of LR and the mystery corals look like individual heads of what was once on the other side. Looking at the pic below of the previous colony, I'm hoping it will help ID these things...thoughts???

So favites of some sort, I've never seen them as a single polyp, but I suppose they gotta start somewhere. Still could be something else, we all know how hitch hiking works, but it has the right LPS structure in the pics
