I recently purchased a Calcium reactor from another member, just that. I'm now gonna have to take some time and help to finishing these set up. Been thinking about expending on an Aquariumplants regulator, then a Brass check valve, then the Co2 tank, what size lb should I go with? 120 gallons tank plus sump and hoping to have heavy sps?
Now here is where I'm little confused about going with this regulator, do I still need Ph controller right? It could be a separated one or controlling via Apex (next investment).
last thing would be the dosing pump... A simple maxi jet or a bigger size pump for dosing from reactor? By the time I probably not gonna be able to purchase a lab grade dosing pump as some of the big guys have here!:o well... If I start savings from now... Some day...
So I'm asking for your input on the items that I'm thinking to get, and thank you so much for your help:up:

ok I have a 120 g sps heavy tank.

i have a an MRC nano reactor, a reef computer (digital aquatics), an aquarium plants regulator, and a co2 check valve. No need for a brass one. I also use a 5lb co2 tank. An MJ 1200 powers the input to the tank, and thus the output, while a PW10 pump powers the reactor.

you do NOT need a ph CONTROLLER.. but you do need a PH PROBE. The probe will send data to your reef computer and tell it when to cut the regulator on and off.

Here is the equipment I listed above, if it helps:

The Reactor

Feed Pump (although I would use a better low GPH pump if I were doing it over again)

The Reactor circ pump. (you won't need one if it isn't a dual chamber)

The PH Probe

The reef computer (this one comes WITH a ph probe, although I'm not sure how great it is)

I dosed 2 part for years, and I really am glad I eventually too the hit to get a CaRX. My levels are more steady, and everything is growing like weeds. I'll post pics of the setup in a sec.

There are some folks here who may can help out more than I can with this area, but I hope it helps some :)

Thank you guys for the fast input! I have read some articles and recommendations on seting them up, what I was looking to get some info as well was on the fellas that are using the items that I mentioned :-) and its helpful to know the info that I was gave here. Here is my carx

I will be gathering more input before I decide to get those items, I know ph probe is an basic, but a controller with the Aquariumplants regulator still in concern :(

That's the most accurate regulator you can fine IMO. I really like my AP reg.

Here's my setup

I have only been running a calcium reactor for a couple months and love it. Levels stay constant and growth has increased (guilty of being a poor doser!) i got a geo 612 from a member for my 92 corner. I use a 5lb tank (10lb didnt fit the stand). I am using the standard Milwaukee regulator and it works fine for me. I also use a Milwaukee pH controller and it makes life so simple. Could I have fancier stuff? Yep, and I can dream, but it works great for me. Feed pump is a maxijet 1200. Check valve is not brass. You may like a 10lb tank or bigger if you have the space. You will love it once it gets going, especially if you use a controller or computer w/ probe.

Thank you snowman! Yours is the original version! Mine is the clear version LOL! Nice stuffvyiu have there for that sps paradise that you have in your tank! Hope to make it run that way, what I have and love from MRC is the craftsman that they put in their job, I own three media reactors and then I got a kw reactor from Dave! Then I got a used MRC sump in a good deal! Hope I com put everything together one day!

Thank you bluespot! I actually had a geo 612 before that I got from a member! And a Milwaukee controller as well ! I actually purchased from another active member, Hoang is his name. End up never using it! Believe or not I sold a bubble magus doser that at the same time!l didn't used again! And it really is not compared to be dosing and have av calcium reactor, always aiming to keep levels of mag, alk and calcium shouldn't he harder with nice equipment lol!

Hope to get more info in the stuff I thinking to get, thank you guys again
