need skimmer help please.

just did a water change 3 hrs ago. everything looks good. i come back later and my coralife 65 skimmer isnt foaming up like it should. just regular water. pump seems to be doing the water delivery job well, but no foaming, just water. ya know how in the main unit the bubbles start there and go to the throat of the cup? no bubbles, just straight water. anybody have a clue as to whats happening here?

Check it in the morning. Maybe too much oil from you skin in the water.

no thats not it. usually when that happens it just starts skimming in high gear. this time it doesnt even bubble up. its like regular water pouring out of a pitcher.

Did you possibly knock the airline loose from the venturi nozzle?

Take the air intake line and stick it under the water for a minute. These skimmers are notorious for getting salt creep in the venturi. If that dosn't work take the pump out and clean it along with the venturi intake. Maybe some debris got washed through the pump and blocked it.

good job john. thats exactly what happened. i did a vinegar cleaning. let it run in a heavy vineager/water solution for about an hour. cleaned the heck out of it and did a freshwater run and extra rinsing. works like brand new. looks that way too.
