If you have had a negative experience with led lighting regarding coral growth, particularly LPS & SPS, let me hear a little about it.
I just removed my LEDs from my tank today and replaced them with a 150w MH. All of my corals colored up really nice under the LEDs for the first couple of weeks, but now they all look dull. All of the softies love the LEDs, but it seems as if nothing else in there does. I have a Favia colony that was not doing well, I set up a temporary tank for it, with T5's, and in about two weeks it has fully recovered!
If the MH doesn't help them I'll know for sure that the LEDs had nothing to do with it and I'll go from there, but as far as I can tell it is a big possibility.
On a side note, progress on my 40B is coming along nicely and will hopefully be completed within a month. I can't wait to get away from this effing BioCube!
