Hey guys I know its been a while since I've posted, Major loss of intrest after the disease outbreak but i still maintained my tank. My Nem split 2 days ago and was headed straight for the power head so I shut it off. Tonite I decided to do a little maintanance and turned on the acentics and boom I see what appears to be a third clone but i has no tentacles, is this possible?

well it is possible, a few mins ago I touched it and while i was typing my first message it deflated and i see the pink tips, its very small about the size of a silver dollar and the tentacles are so short they appear to be in its mouth. Whats the chances on survival of all three?

Chance of survival is EXCELLENT if you simply put it in my tank! Promise. Have I ever lied to you?? :) Congrats on the split!

I'm sure soon when i get them healthy I will have one up for sale, No calling Dibs yet though

How small is the little one? Sometimes if they are too small they just don't thrive but if you feed it small amounts of meaty food, frequently, it should make it. Sometimes half the battle is being able to feed it, they have a tendency to park themselves in inconvenient locations.

I got 2 large and 3 small ones out of a BTA once. All lived.

It'll be fine, just wait a few days before you feed...trying to feed before it's new mouth is established can cause more stress than the split.

oh, its like that huh :D

welcome back stranger

Wow I had no idea that they could split like that, thanks for the info guys. Maple for sure one of them is yours. Just hope the third makes it so maybe this hobby could actually pay me back in currency instead of satisfaction for once.

That it split like that? I was really expecting it to split a long time ago to survive because its mouth had gotton torn, it was like it was two nems still a little bit attached for months.
