Was wondering if I could use a USB wifi on the base unit to connect to my wifi? ( NETGEAR AC600 Dual Band WiFi USB Adapter (A6100-10000s)

I use a range extender. It's a TP link (I think). I got it at one of the big box office stores for $40. It plugs into the wall has an ethernet port. I dont think the apex will connect to anything via USB but I may be wrong.

I’m assuming you have the Apex Classic unit (pretty sure the latest version has native WiFi). Neptune is serious about NOT updating firmware over WiFi on the classic unit. I have one and have heeded that warning - always found a way to plug it in with a long drop cord or some other solution as well as my laptop. I recall seeing a couple of threads of folks with bricked classic units so I highly recommend coming up with a plan to handle those updates via a hardwired connection for both the apex and your computer.
