I got it installed last night. I had a little bit of issues with the wifi. May have been my router. Finally got it up. Forgot that when I set up my Classic that I had to update the firmware on the base as well as the modules. I couldn't get the power to the outlets last night. Just updated the firmware on the eb from work and it's drawing power now even though nothing is plugged in. Awesome that I can tell that the firmware worked by seeing that it's drawing power.

I also just realized the tank is likely getting hotter than I realized while I'm at work. That may have been what has been causing issues with my torches in the last week or so.

We should have our 4-5 units get here on Monday/Tuesday. 2 of which have already been purchased.

*rubs hands together*

You hook that thing up to your Spec/Evo Danh? *grin* =)

Lol no. My 93g.

I was up there yesterday. I needed that water tested. I lost a torch the other day and another one isn't doing well. Phos was detectable but not too high. Zero nitrates. 10dkh is a little high. I finally bit the bullet and got some xenia for both tanks and a couple of the pink paly polyps.

As far as heat goes. It got down to 78.6 last night and is up to 79.2 right now. I assume the room is at 80 and should stay there.

The temp is only being monitored by the Apex right now. Now that I got the EB working I'll move the heaters to it tonight.

The conductivity probe on the apex is off. I've read that a lot of people are having issues with it. I haven't been doing too much as far as programming with it yet. Mostly just the out of the box stuff. I need to make some more small mods before I do much more.

I got the video feed through HesperH's old S5 working though. This is pretty cool. I may get zero work done tomorrow once I get to the office.

This tank is in our bedroom... I guess I need to watch out huh?

Now that you've had it a couple weeks... how is the new Apex running?

I've been seeing a lot of horror stories on R2R & RC.

Conductivity is still showing 29.3-29.6. My refractometer shows 35 for the tank and my store bought red sea water from Optimum and 0 for RO.

Fusion is a little buggy when I use it from my S5. The outlets don't always update right away. Sometimes if I'm turning in outlet on or off I have to change it a couple of times for it to work. Could be the phone.

I don't really have anything to complain about. I don't have any crazy code in it right now and I'm only using 4 outlets. It's been fine.

I thin Fusion is the same for both as far as this goes, but I really like tracking things through it. Maintenance, conditions/observations, tests. I think that will be really beneficial in the long run.

Cool, glad to hear yours is running good. The list of people with problems is growing pretty quickly. I don't like the sound of the thing bricking its self on initial hookup and firmware updating.

While I'm a little miffed that my "Classic" is not even in use 3 months and there's a new version out, I'm glad I'd didn't get the new one. With my luck I'd be on the list of people with problems. Down the road I'm sure they'll get everything worked out and I'll look to upgrade then.

Bricking?

Mine had firmware updates ready out of the box. I was the first person the apex forum say I had it.

Have 3 of them running out on service accounts. Updates were ready to go out of the box and haven't had any issues updating other wise. Been working perfectly fine. Haven't heard any issues either with the couple we have sold though retail already.

Keep in mind that people usually only get the energy to write something about a product when it isn't working. I think there are many more people out there happy with the APEX we just haven't seen the good reviews coming in yet.

I've seen multiple reports of people unboxing, hooking them up and starting the firmware update only to have the unit become completely unresponsive (Bricked). Most of them are unable to be rectified by Neptune remotely and having to send the Apex in.

Yes, the people that have problems are always the ones that are the most heard. Especially on a product launch. I'd venture to say there's probably some user error going on too. Good not to hear of anyone local having issues.

I'm probably going to get a used Classic for my new tank but I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to use another new one if I won it tomorrow!

I had several user errors when I was doing the initial set up. Obviously it never crashed.

Just curious and lazy, whats diffrence and benefits of new apex? I see it has built-in wifi. I just bought used Apex but wonder if new one is any better. Ive owned classic one in the past so it wont be a big deal. Couldnt pass it on when sale price was too good.

It comes with all of the lab grade probes including salinity. It's got special outlets for some controllable lights, powerheads and dosers to help with cord reduction. Something I really wanted was to be able to see power consumption by outlet. You can alert and program outlets based on consumption too I think.

and it also has one link ports as well so you dont need a one link module if you get stuff that uses it like the wav
