Ok, so I am near pulling the trigger on my new build.

Sand: Need you advice here...help!?

Controller: TBD - Any advice here?

Flow: Vortech MP10 (maybe x 2)

I am going to order the tank in the next week or so....the LED's are on back order, so I will cycle the tank with a small T5 fixture I have spare for a little while......already have the vortech. I am really not sure with the sand and I may switch out the aquaroche with an order of Marco rocks, but for the mst part I am pretty certain on the build.

I am also going to run two reactors, one for GFO and one for NP Biopellets.

I will probably add BRS Dosing pumps for two part. I already have an ATO.

Very interesting tank. As for controller I'd get the apex. Great support and very helpful. I'm about to purchase one.

Love the light, had reservations about it when I found it on the internet a few weeks back. What source are you going through to get it?

Care to throw out a cost?

Still deciding Dakota...waiting on a response. Will let you know bro on where and how much when I finalize.

I was thinking about going with a 180w maxspect on my upcoming build. I like what I've read about them so far. Let us know how it works out for you!!

Will do, yes - I figured the G2 was worthy of a try.

I solved the Controller question today and went down to Keen Reef to chat to Tim....came home with the Reefkeeper lite L3 kit from DA. I feel that is enough for my needs and there is a new firmware update coming soon so I can buy a net module and have it send email notifcations. Tim has very good pricing on it, so I am happy...

Nice tank. You will like the reefkeeper lite. The firmware is already out also. Its version 1.11

....that is great, I need to get the Net module.

Thanks.

I have heard good things about that tank. I have the cad pro 39 gallon. I love the tank, but I was a pain to get it here in one piece. I took three times before I got that tank and sump here. Also, never did get a few of the plumbing parts however. All in all, I would say go for it. Buy from cadlight because Eddie ( the guy who runs it) is very helpful especially with all the shipping troubles I had

Ok....just ordered the light from http://www.fish-street.com/">http://www.fish-street.com/</a>

It may take a while to get here, so I just went ahead and ordered now.

Went with the G2 160W unit, which is comparable to 250 Watt HQI....

Fingers crossed.

So, the LED fixture and Controller are taken care of....got the Vortech.

I am really hung up on the sand of all things....can't decide. Obviously, I need something heavy enough to prevent a sand storm, but nice to look at and easy to maintain.

What are the dimensions on the 160w unit?

Speak English man....:D Silly metric system. If it ain't a pint, I need translation:lol2:

LOL...yes, for those of you who don't know I am Scottish...proud American Citizen, but still Scottish too. Speaking of a pint JonB, it the superbowl and time for a brew or three....LOL.

Cheers!

Well, few changes - good changes.

Ordered a 45 Marineland Cube from Keen Reef today....decided against the Cadlights.

I am having Grouper Therapy build a stand, and we have seen some of his work, so I am stoked!

And.....I just got word from Fish-Street that they are packing up my Maxspect G2 160 LED fixture today for UPS delivery!! It may take a bit to get here from Hong Kong, but it is really great to know it is on the way. :D

I am really getting excited about this build....

You want great looking sand that won't be a sand storm, check out the Caribsea "Special Grade" Sea Flor sand. I love the stuff.

Thank you! That is what I am going with....I really appreciate it. It has been driving me nuts trying to figure out the sand! My Vortech needs to be on a high setting!
