Hey, I've been out of the hobby for a while and decided I want to get back in. In the past I've had medium to large aquariums. This time I think I'm wanting to stay on the smaller side of things. I'm looking at a 32 gallon bio cube atm. My question is what type of lights should I get. I'm wanting to be able to keep a good variety. Wasn't sure if there was a one size fits all or something. I've always ran metal halides over my reef tanks, but I'm going to go with leds this go around. Just don't know much about them. Thanks in advance for any advice giving.

Welcome!! I think everyone has their own lighting preferences. We personally like AI’s and have them on almost all of our tanks.

Welcome back!

I'm assuming you are taking the lid off the BioCube? If so, AI's are good all around in my opinion also, but lighting choice also depends on what you are looking to keep (LPS, SPS, Mixed?) and budget. For a mixed reef, a number of lights on the market at various price points will work well.

Yea I'm planning on taking the lid off. I am wanting to do mixed, sorry I forgot to mention that. I will check out the AI's. Thanks y'all for the info.

An AI 32 or older 26 hd prime would cover it. Easy interface/app and downloadable schedules if you choose.

You can find plenty of gently used ones for sale..just make sure no leds are burned.
