Hi all, happy to be here enjoying all the tanks and discussions. I just did this install today of an AquaMaxx biopellet reactor on my 210 gallon rehabbed build that I got given. I wanted to make it a temporary style setup as I hope to not have to run these all the time but rather periodically. Installed some ball valves and a Cobalt Maxijet 1200 pump. Will see if it has enough power. If not I’m going to plumb in an attachment off my return pump line. Anyway this is my setup. Of course I did the mandatory leak test before I set it up!
What is everyone else using out there for reactor setups?

I like the easy option of being able to use it periodically when needed rather than tuning it all the time. Don’t want to strip and crash the system

Why not just dose vodka or vinegar? Easy to regulate. I do a 50/50 mix.
I could do that. I’m trying out different equipment configurations and experimenting with what works best for this setup. It’s kind of like my research and development tank 😂 At some time in the near future when I move I’m going to upgrade to a different large AIO system and break this one down. Thats the plan for now anyway.

I have biopellet reactor and it is a dream. No need to dose. Set it and forget. I have to adjust water flow from time to time if my nitrates drop too much.
