Hi everyone!

my name is Noel Dokken and relocated to Atlanta last May. Prior to that I was living in Minneapolis and at one point was actively involved with the Twin Cities marine aquarium society. I have been out of the hobby since 2010 when my relationship ended and sold off my 90 gallon rimless (photo of it below) . What can I say much has changed since then from what I can tell!! Now that I bought a place in a new city and a new place the reef bug bit me real bad so I am itching to get a tank running within 6 months. So far I have been really interested in peninsula reefs such as from Red Sea/water box.
Looking forward to meeting some of you! 16DB5763-9DE6-433C-AD86-59E8BDDE8546.jpeg

Hello and welcome to Atlanta and the ARC. I don't have a peninsula tank but I have a Red Sea tank. ,I really like it so far, I've had it running for almost 8 months now.

Welcome! Don't be a stranger. Keep us updated with pics and new post as your build progresses. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about equipment and practices that are unfamiliar to you. There are knowledgeable folks here who are always willing to help. Happy reefing!

Welcome to ARC and welcome back to the hobby. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I am the member coordinator for the club so let me know if there is anything I can help with.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! So far just doing research and glad to hear successes with Red Sea. Definitely eying the Red Sea reefer peninsula 500 myself!

the biggest item aside from the tank in which I’m trying to get a grasp on is the lighting. Many things have changed in the last 10 years and though LEDexisted then the cost was astronomical that I went with an ATI T5 setup. However I will definitely go into lighting.

with Covid-19 rumors at work suggests bonuses may be little to nothing. Really Hope that’s not the case because I’ll be counting on that to get the bulk of my supplies. I could maybe start out small too then upgrade but that seems more work and costly in the end lol
