So I just purchased new lights they are amazing but now Im running into the problem that they are blowing the fuse in the bedroom they are in currently my house is set up so all three bedrooms are on the same fuse so I cant just drill through the wall and connect them to another portion of the house anyone have any ideas what I can do? They have even blown the fuse at one point when only the tank was on and running on that circuit all other items such as my computer were off. Its not a constant thing though about once every 2 or 3 days but if it happens while I am gone that will be serious problems. Thanks in advance any suggestions on options I have are appreciated.

I would call an electrician and have them check out your wiring. If a wire doesn't have enough surface area for electrons to move freely on then resistance becomes a problem. When that happens heat builds and circuit breakers "pop" or "trip" If you up the breaker and the surface area isn't large enough then the electrons get mad and start fighting. LOL :) The resulting heat will build to a point that it may melt the rubber coating on the wires and start a fire.

Good luck.

You can get a "Kill-a-Watt" (I think Dr F&S sells them for ~$35). It will tell you the true amperage that you are pulling with the tank. This can give a starting point for troubleshooting. What size tanks/lights are you running? blackwolf's idea is good, but please make sure your wiring is able to handle the increase in load before doing that. If it is fuses versus breakers, then your wiring is likely been around awhile and not able to handle the increased load.

If you have breakers, it's also possible for those to go bad. They're easy to replace. Just remember to turn off the main house power or main breaker first. That will only cost you $5 to find out if it's the problem.

Don't just "upgrade" your breakers to a higher amperage. It can cause fires!

Sorry I am not in the Agusta area. It sounds like you need another circuit, maybe just to feed the tank. It would be a good idea to put and amp probe on the wire at the panel and see what the circuit is pulling. DO NOT just change the breaker to a larger size, you will cause a fire!!!

Good luck!

exactly what you need to do. Have an electrician run you a separate 20 amp line from your breaker board to your tank. You will now have 2 lines for your tank, the old one for low power stuff, and your new dedicated outlet.
