I've been lurking for a few months and thought it was time to make an introduction. My wife and I moved down here from MN this past summer and have been feeling lonely without a local reef club. I Did some searching and found ARC which seems to fit the bill perfectly. Took some time this weekend and finally got my tank setup again. It broke my heart to tear it down for the move down here, but it's time to reef again.

A not typical before:

And after the move as the tank currently is.....

I look forward to seeing you guys at upcoming meetings!!

The brain was by far my favorite coral. I have a friend back in MN holding it for me. Hopefully I can get the tank mature and get it back down here!!

The brain in your avatar is sweet!

Welcome to the club, Enjoy the ride. I'm glad you decided to join and share your tank before the tear down. Luckily you have found a great club with many resources available. We can help fill that tank up with nice corals in no time! Looking forward to seeing your rebuild.

Welcome to the area and to ARC Jeff! What part of the ATL did you settle into?

Thanks for the warm introduction. My wife and I settled in Tyrone which is SW of the metro. As far as I can tell.....the fish stores are a LONG ways away.

One suprize so far on the rebuild.....I had forgotten just how bad cycling dead liverock can smell....whole house smells like death. I'm not very popular right now with Jess...lol.

That's funny, my eyes went right to the brain. Very sweet coral indeed.

Welcome to the club, and welcome to the South!!

We love it when there are pics......woohoo

Welcome. I don't have any sponsor stores at my back door either......so, when I do get to go "fishing" I generally make an all day expedition of it.

Looking forward to watching a rebuild thread on this one.

Quick question for you guys. I seem to have lost my Aquacontroller Jr Temp prob in the move. Is there a LFS that stocks them?? When possible, I like to buy local.

Jeff

Check with Tim at Keen Reef. He is a sponsor and he and usually has stuff like that. If not he can get it.

Not sure about whether or not they carry the probe you want... but the Fish Garden on Hwy 34 between Peachtree City and Newnan is (I believe) the closest LFS to Tyrone and/or Fayette County. Been in there and few times and bought a couple frags... nice enough people. Welcome to the club!
