Hi all, I have always had fish tanks since I was a child. I started my first salt water tank about 15 or so years ago. I have had many tanks over the years, both fresh and salt and have never been with out some sort of tank in the home. Currently, I have two nano, mixed reefs. A 20g long and a 10g. I also have two small nano, fresh water, planted systems. This hobby is amazing and I am always learning, growing and enjoying all the aspects of it all. I have enjoyed looking at the many beautiful tanks on the pages of this forum...very inspiring! Blessings and Happy Reefing!

Welcome! Planted tanks have sure come a long ways. I tired a planted tank in the mid 90's and it just didn't work out very well. Every time I go in to a fish store that has some nice one's on display I think about dipping back into it but I'm afraid my Wife would be somewhat less than thrilled with a new tank in the house.

I totally understand the more tanks in the house thing! I used to have 11 in the house! I now only have two nano reefs and two nano fresh planted. I do low tech, tanks on a budget. I try to set the tank up for success by not over stocking and picking plants (or corals for salt) that I know will have the best chance of success in the systems I build. Also, I like easy care because I have an intensly busy life with very little time for my hobby. I have a youtube channel. Here is a link to my most recent reef post. If you look around at my other videos, there are examples of my planted tanks and systems too. :)

Blessings and Happy Reefing!

Hello, Welcome to ARC and thank you for joining the site!
Thank you! I just found out about you all, while at the fish store in Kennesaw yesterday or I would have joined sooner! Blessings and Happy Reefing!

Looks like you need a lot of help. If you every accidentally break off a frag of that pink poci, I'll volunteer to resuce it from your tank! Seriously thought, good looking setup!

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement! I Love that tank. It has been such a fun tank to own and care for. - Haha. And you dont know how often I do break stuff off in my tank. Clumsy when I clean!

Hi all, I have experience in this hobby along time ago but it was with freshwater, then one day one coworker decided to start a little saltwater tank in his cubicle. So I decided to give it a try and love it...I didn't know that I have to relearn chemistry all over again..lol. I am almost a year in this hobby. I love the Nem i got from Holly during member meeting last year.

What are your tank specs? Love to hear and see stuff like that about successful tanks. :)

my spec: 20 Gallons long but I decided to built in filter and separate compartment for skimmer and separate compartment for return pump. I also add HOB refugium using fish breeder as HOB.
