Just moved to GA few months now. Picked up this IM40 tank over the weekend and filled it up with saltwater 1.025 salinity. I’ve got some rocks in the garage that I dosed with some ammonia and have power heads going; been about 1 month now and ammonia still present so still patiently waiting I guess.

Oh ok, it might take some time to get there without it, but if you're in no hurry, then not an issue.

Welcome to the club by the way. I had to google Lizella, GA. I never even heard of the city before and I been here 41 years, LOL! Are you or family military?

I have family in the military but I’m not…. Lots of people seem to not know lizella which is why I just tell them Macon.

I’ve always been a dr Tim’s user. I’ve started every tank with it with a 100% success rate. They all do about the same thing though. Only so much you can differentiate with bacteria in a bottle.

I’m in the same boat. If I don’t have a bunch of sphere from a trusted tank to seed, dr Tim has always been my go to.
This was day 1 of filling the tank.


This was maybe, if that after dr Tim. Water was pristine after.
