One of the prettiest ive seen.

I have a powder brown as well and I was just in Optimum and they had a powder blue about the size of your brown I would guess. I would love to have him if they were safe to mix.

How is he doing. I also have one of these guys and think they are just beautiful. But I am having a little problem. Just before the lights go out at night he seems to start stressing and swims in front of the power head like he wants more water flow. Breaks out in spots and by morning has lots of spots. It is not ich. The spots are raised. All water params are good. Several other fish including tangs are in the tank and no probs. with them. 120 gal reef tank.

That's weird cause he actually died a couple months ago from something weird. He had spots too, not ich, and his slime coat was coming off and he had blisters on his tail. Thinking bacterial or fungal.

I think Bacterial or fungal too. Just don't know what. It's not ich. Spots are too raised and larger. Besides the fact we also have other tangs that don"t have any signs of anything.

Acanthurus tangs will often show exaggerated spot with ich. If it is appearing at night and disappearing during the day, it is surely ich. There may have been additional problems too, but I'm not aware of any bacterial or fungal issues that will disappears during the day and cause spots.

As I said, there can surely be a secondary issue, such as brooklynella or amyloodinium. But the spots are most likely ick, which can exasperate the other conditions.

What do we mean by "blisters" on the tail? I don't see how this could be occurring, with my definition of blisters.

he literally had bubble blisters on his tail. Just like a blister we get but they were all over his tail.
