Popped off some shots just now, hopefully they'll come out okay... things have been running great so far. Just mesh-modded my custom skimmer and it went from pulling 11 lpm to 15 lpm of air, which is pretty darn good for a single (modded) OR3500 pump. Last week I got some cleaners and a few new fish, plus another fish this weekend. My list is now:

PJ Cardinal
Watchman Goby
Solar Fairy Wrasse
Filament Flasher Wrasse
Baby Hippo Tang (2.5")

Oh, and my Flame shrimp has gone missing, and the fairy wrasse won't look me in the eyes anymore, so somethings definitely fishy, there...

Okay, some photos.... Questions, comments?

By the way, some very generous local reefers have donated almost all the SPS and Zoos in the tank--I am very lucky to have them down here!

Oh, and these little guys have also selflessly helped me every step of the way!

jesse,

how is the tang? i didn't see him in any of the pictures.

also speaking from a first hand visit i would say your tank is the best looking < 3 month setup i've ever seen!

Looks great! How do you know how much air your skimmer is pulling in? Are you just going by the specs, or do you have a fairly accurate rotometer?

Thanks guys. Cory--the tang is going great. she goes into hiding in the evening after the first two sets of lights go out, and that's when I took the pictures, so I couldn't get one of her (I'll take one today for good measure).

Bryan-- I have a dwyer airflow meter that makes it incredibly easy to measure what the skimmer is pulling. I'm seeing almost a 50% improvement with the mesh mod, and had to dial my skimmer way back, as I've gone through a few quarts of tea-green skimmate in as many days... Now I'm skimming dryer, and adding salt to get my SG back up!

Just to get a sense of the depth of the tank when you're looking in, it's about 4ft from the front viewing panel to the back corner. I can't seem to capture that really well with my camera, but I'll keep trying!

I would keep an eye on those two, they look like trouble! lol

I also have a couple colt frags if you want them. The grow fast and I know your looking for hard corals, but there here if you want them. Jeff

Thanks, Jeff! Still trying to give away my kenya tree, though. I'm trying to play it smart and keep anything out that good be a headache later on. And I'm still finding little bits and pieces of kenya tree everywhere in the display....

Here's a picture of the tang--Also, playing with the camera settings helped a bit with the resolution.
