Well I’m officially with a tank now! It’s been a long time coming but there are potential issues. But first I’d like to thank Mphammer, doberman13 and Adam for their help moving this tank. Now the issues: before I installed the leveling mat I noticed there was a gap that runs almost the length of the tank. It’s about a 16th inch gap at its widest. The tank is also about an 1/8th of an inch wider than the stand. Are these serious issues and if so how should I address them?

Got any pictures? Is it a 2x4 stand? Is the tank glass or acrylic? rimmed? And what is this leveling mat you speak of?

Not Adam - I'm Shawn :D

Aluminum stand. 60x24x24. Gap is reduced in pic due to leveling pad but still present.

Are the face, rear, and side glass panels of the tank on top of the bottom panel, or are they wrapped around the bottom panel?

No. The gap was visible before the tank was installed. I have a base of 1/2" HDPE (high density polyethylene). My tank and stand are 60" long. I measured it with a 6' level. At that time the gap at its widest was almost 1/8". I meant to ask @mphammer to look at it before we placed the tank but forgot. One possibility is the four center posts may be cut a little short and by over-tightening them I created the gap. That won't fix the problem but will solve the mystery. Still looking for a solution though.

Oh okay I see, if that is the case, would you be able to over-tighten the side posts as well? Maybe that will bring the sides down back to level with the middle

I'd recommend contacting SC aquariums and speak to them about it. I wouldn't do anything else until then if it were me since it's new? Nice looking tank.

You'll have to get one of the club officers to grab the suction cups. I think they require a deposit otherwise.
Off top of my head I know these guys are are club officers
@FutureInterest
@aestheticlibra
@Doberman13
@jcook54

Im sure one of them can arrange using those cups again!
I’ve got them. You’re close, and the two of us should be able to move that tank down. Text me to set up a time that works for us. 404.641.0390.
