I just got my tank cycled and its doing great! I have a 4 Stripe and a Neon Doty Back Margarita snails and some hermits that are happy and healthy.
I’m looking for some softies and starter corals on the South side. I’m willing to purchase them. Any help would be great.

If you ever are going to be up in the Duluth area shoot me a PM. Theres a few great local fish stores up this way.
Edit: It would be a good idea to post a thread in the want to buy section of the marketplace. I would put Southside in the title

I think I’ve been to that store in Duluth recently . I am also new to the hobby
I always wanted a real tank ( not the kind I bought for the kids when they were little) lol
And my hubby gave me 10 gallon tank and purchased a used 75 .
I really wanted try saltwater, but not having much experience started the 10 gallon off with freshwater. All was going well until I added some fish that brought ich to the tank and eventually decimated all of them😫
I tried everything to cure them but unfortunately they all dwindled away overtime. Now my tank is completely cycled and empty 😏.
What are your thoughts on purchasing a 20 gallon to try salt prior to going all for salt in the 75? I’m looking for a used 20 gallon if possible

Nano tanks are much harder to run and maintain compared to larger more stable systems. Unless you are doing a simple reef tank with softies a la Inappropriate Reefer on social media and do lots of water changes etc.

Thanks Sharis 100,
I did not realize that a smaller tank would be harder o_O
I will rethink this , I have a fluval fx 4 canister filter that came with the 75 gl tank. would I be able to use if if for salt?

So, back in the day I ran canister filters, but these days sumps are so easy and are more stable in my opinion and less work then a canister. Although many reefers still run their tanks on a canister- I am sure someone on the ARC does and can chime in for you. I personally would either drill and put in a an overflow or use a hang in back overflow with an aqua lifter. I used one on my temporary holding tank for over a year quite successfully.
