Hey everyone I’m excited to be here. I’ve been a member for a while but haven’t posted or reached out to anyone so I figured now was a good time. I currently have a 75 gallon setup with a few fish and coral. I was considering changing the aquascape and completely revamping it. Do y’all have any experience doing that? And if so can someone give me some advice on the rock scaping? I’m terrible at it😂😂

Erm. I watched a number of BRS videos, this one in particular over and over again, because I wanted to do an HNSA design and get in as much habitat as possible into my little 50g AIO.

I don't know I'm any good at it... it's been a struggle for me so far and I'm way behind on my intended timeline, with just a bunch of regular rock in the tank for now that I'll slowly push to the side and then phase out as I complete my actual desired scape. It's not ideal, but it's kind of where I'm at, and not much different than plenty of people do when they decide to re-scape. I managed to complete one piece to my satisfaction for my display refugium, but I'm still effectively at the starting line for my display tank.

Glad to have you! In terms of changing up your scape, it wouldn’t be too difficult with what you currently have. You have 2 options as I see it:

1) you could build a structure to add to the 2 main rocks you have, creating an arch or some other type of design. Basically just bridging them together while creating more “safe spaces” for the livestock. Simplest way to do that would just buy one of the already premade arches and leave it at that, or add onto it.

2) build a new scape out (or buy one since there are tons of premade scapes available nowadays), and replace everything. This will be much more work, but might ultimately give you the look you’re after.

Main things to keep in mind are flow and safe spaces for the livestock to hide if they ever feel the need. Good luck!

I don't hate what you've got going on already. I like the negative space in the middle. Perhaps you could build up the left side (or just fully re-do it) and build that side a little higher with some arches and maybe some more overhangs.

I don't have a lot of experience fully re-scaping but I guess be careful removing too much live rock and/or disturbing too much sand.
