Hi all, I am so happy I found your club. I have been into aquariums for 20 years, but just got hooked on the reef and salt water bug about 2 years ago. I've had a 40 gallon breeder tank up and running for great for almost the whole 2 yrs. Boy did my tank fill up quick. So I was forced, (wink, wink) to go buy a complete 150 gallon Tenecor acrylic set up. Well long story short, when the lfs came to set it up, it busted out the front and flooded my house with 150 gallons of fresh salt water and sand. Omg what a mess. Anyway I'm now in the market for a new acrylic tank, anyone have any suggestions on who's the best maker. Right now I'm talking to ATM in vegas about a 72"x20"x30" rounded front tank. Just don't want to ever go though that again. Thanks for having such an awesome club and any suggestion.
Roger

Welcome! As I read about your 150g I was cringing at the thought of all of that water pouring all over the place. I hope your LFS took care of you.

Wow! Can't imagine that. You really have the bug it you still want a tank after that. Oh, and welcome to ARC. :-) We have a meeting tomorrow night with a guest speaker. Going to make it?

I bought the whole set up used from someone off craigslist. The tank was set up and running when I purchased it. The guys from the lfs looked at it and said it was an awesome tank. They said they had never seen an acrylic tank do that before. I started researching Tenecor tanks on-line and they have many law suits on them for the same thing. They were saying that the tanks were built with about half as thick of acrylic as was called for. I'm just glad it happened when it did and I hadn't put any of my fish or corals in it yet. :shout:

Edit: Hey sprinklerman 500, I'm actually close to you. I'm over by Heron Bay.

Welcome to ARC! Like you, I spent over 20 years in freshwater before getting into the reefing. Hate to hear of the flood but glad you are sticking around.
