Here is my new addition, a pair of Vanuatu Pylei Fairy wrasse. I was able to obtain this lovely pair from Robin @ Marine Design.

The pair hid out for much of the first night and next morning until I started to put pellets in for the morning feeding. They looked interested but confused, so after rinsing some mysis shrimp and adding it they were no longer shy...they tore through the tank eating everything in sight.

Thanks to Robin & Marine Design for an awesome pair of fish. :yay:

NICE!!! I have a pair of Vanuatu red hooded fairy wrasse and I love them! I have to say I want a pair of yours as well!

Thank you!
To be honest when I first saw the male I thought it was a Pink Margin due to the bright dorsal fin. I had never seen a Pylei male with that much color, as the ones I have seen are closer in coloration of the female. I was astounded when she pointed out that that it was actually the male!

The Hooded wrasse is a gorgeous wrasse as well. I would like my next wrasse addition to be a pair of Lineatus, as they are a real favorite of mine. Unless I happen to run across a well priced pair of Rhomboid's!

The pair I have continually get mistaken for a pair of nice flame wrasse...until they actually get close and clearly look at them they notice the major differences. In all honesty I might have to get a pair of those for my new tank. If you don't mind me asking did you pay a pretty penny for them? I payed quit a bit for mine....liveaquaria has the super male for 600 and the female for 400...

Edit:

Edit: This is what my male looks like....There is more purple on the top and on his rear as well.

No where near that price! Very reasonable price and have been excellent in every way thus far. I picked these up last Wednesday while in ATL for the day.

Well I didn't pay that listed price, I got them from a LFS near me. Do they happen to have another pair?

Butch & Cooley - Thanks!!

Barbara - Thank you for the info, I'll keep that in mind as I progress with them. I wasn't aware that they were one of the more agressive of the fairy wrasse species. I know Flames can be as well as Scott's. I agree that they stay out and about constantly cruising the tank!
