OK,I'm not new to the hobby, but a buddy of mine bought one of my 75 gal tanks that is cycling as we speak.
Last night he took my test kit to check his ammonia level and when he was finished he poured it into the tank!!!
Should we worry about this since the tank has just started cycling?
Should he do a WC now or just wait for now?

... First tell him not to do that again... but honestly I wouldn't worry about it so much.... less than 1 oz of water isn't going to have much affect on 75 gallons, also I assume you don't have fish or corals in the tank (due to cycling). I would continue with "normal" water changes and not do that again (did I say that already...).

Yes he know's not to do it again,(he felt really dumb afterwards),and no he doesn't have anything in there right now because of the cycle.
I just didn't know how powerful the test chemicals are,and was worried about it hurting the LR,and LS.
Thanks

Probably will be ok. Carbon more than likely will pull out anything if it is even detectable. I'm not s8ure what an amm test kit is though (chemical wise..)

sodium hydroxide and mercuric iodide...what the test kit contains...Well pretty sure
