Newbie - Confused

I just bought a 75 (not drilled) and have never run SW before. I plan on a FOWLR. My set up came with a magnum canister filter. Do I need to look at a sump system or will I be ok with the canister and a couple of powerheads along with LR?

A sump is by no means a requirement for any setup.

I have a 72 reef tank with a canister filter. It's been up since September and all is well. I do water changes religiously... 10% per week.

We also have a 30 gallon with a 10 gallon sump. It's doing well also.

A lot also depends on what kind of fish you'll be housing in your FOWLR. If you're considering fish that consume live food (pods), you may want to plan on a sump & refugium at some point down the road.

Agree that a canister filter is fine for now though. You'll want to thoroughly research the construction of a sume/refugium system before you jump into a project like that.
