Nualgi?

I still haven'e received my sample of Nualgi though. I asked for right before i made the original post...oh well, im pretty muich out of the woods as far as my algae issues, and i think i am about to start dosing vodka so i'm not too worried about it.

Regarding Vodka dosing, my ignorance of that is enough to drop an elephant.
I do understand that it's a method of carbon dosing (I think...).

Is it something that you can set up a dosing pump to do?
I've got an extra dosing pump that has been begging me to put it to work but thus far, I've yet to have anything for it to do.

Plus, I like to wander around liqueur stores. ;)

I use brightwells reef fuel..it's a carbon dosing system. Pretty much smells like vodka.

It is indeed a method of carbon dosing, and you could set it up to be dosed automatically. I would definitely dose by hand to begin with though as the levels you start with are so minute, and I also would want to see how my tank reacts. I have read and re-read several articles over the last year or so, and finally feel i have enough of a grasp of it for it to be woth me trying.

this article is a good starting point. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2008-08/nftt/">http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2008-08/nftt/</a>

If you do a search for vodka dosing on RC there are several threads that document success stories, and i know several people on here that swear by it.

it is also worth noting that the reason i was reluctant to try it is on account of the small size of my tank ,and until a few months ago i didn't have an adequate skimmer

Just how big of a tank do you have?
I've got a 66 gallon as well as mt son's 29 and a 50 gallon frag tank.

I guess I could still wander the floor of my local bottle shop. Just for the memories. :shades:

There is a relatively recent thread here

I ordered my free sample this morning.
Got multiple emails from them, one indicating it was shipped today!
Hope it works as their initial efforts/communication are great !
