As you may or may not know, Nutramar is (was) one of the sure-fire frozen foods to get finicky fish to start accepting prepared, and a mainstay of pipefish/seahorse/mandarin keeping. Anecdotally I've also heard it's good introductory food for some of the more stubborn kinds of wrasse and anthias. It stopped being produced a little over a year ago at least in the US after a brief surge of popularity locally - it was being carried in many sponsors' stores. It's also coming back into stock online... in "two weeks" for the last year+ timeframe. ;)

I came across a recent group buy thread on the Houston Reef club for a product called "Lobster Eggs"...looks very similar to Nutramar and appears to be accepted by said finicky eaters to the same degree when I reached out to some reefers that got in on the deal. It's packaged by a couple of companies in the EU and at least one company now imports it: (both products are based on the same food (prawn roe):

I'm trying to drum up interest to get this a group buy/club purchase of ARC's own - Jeff's (porpoiseaquatics) has agreed to look into it, but before we draw on his all-to-fleeting personal time let's hear it - who wants to lay in a supply? Please vote in the poll above and at the end of a week we'll see what the interest is. Thanks!

hummm might be...I think I tried lobster...can't remember.

I do have 2 things that do work:

1) nutramar-ova, lol
2) this stuff is great..........not any other version, mind you!

The Aviarium carries it!
that's all my Anampses femininus eats w/ SELCO boost (since November)

They're not "lobster eggs" per se... rather they're prawn roe from farms in asia. Much like the aforementioned Nutramar.

Wait, no. EXACTLY like it. ;)

Wow, apparently there was more interest in RalphATL's thread last year on not being able to find Nutramar anymore & hunting for remaining inventory countrywide than in actually finding a new supply.

Minimum order looks to be a 25-pack case, & each pack retails (admittedly in EU markets, so factor in a price increase due to shipping) for about $5 USD ... if a few more "yes" votes show up then it might be worth it to try. Then later have the facts needed to convince a local sponsor to carry one of these other products on a more routine basis.

I believe the Aviarium already has some...I'm going to get me some tomorrow!

Well, that would negate the need for a Club Buy/group purchase now, wouldn't it? ;)

Mind updating here or PM'ing me if it turns out to be so? They were still expecting part of an order when I called today.
