I've noticed over the last couple weeks that my clowns have some dark (black) spots on them (size of a pencil mark)..

anyone know what it is/could be?

they are eating well and acting happy/normal... very social, not nipping eachother anymore (they just began sexing - one is starting to grow larger than the other)

Larger one has the little spots. (they aren't sores or anything of the sort, more like "mis-bars" - not raised or sunken in, scales are completely smooth)..

I haven't been able to get a good picture of it yet.. I'll post one if I can.

Sg - 1.026
PH - 8.01-8.22
dKH - 9-10
ORP - 245
NO3 - <12
NO2 - 0
NH3 - 0

What you are describing sounds like the spots they typically get from hosting corals such as euphyllia. Hard to tell without a pic though.</em>

I've got frogspawn.. it's been in the tank almost 50 days.. so that could be a possibility

is there something I should do?

If that's what they are its harmless. Its just marks from where they are getting stung. They typically go away after a bit

well they ARENT acting suspicious in any way... I'll keep an eye on them..

thank you for the information, VERY helpful.

I was finally able to get a real camera so here is a picture of the spots..

I agree. it's most likely from hosting. I have one that didn't have a nem and she loved her some zoas. Her whole underside is spotted like yours.

yup nothing to worry about, ive seen it from euphillia and zoas as well.

cool.. THANKS...

i would have been more worried about it if they were acting weird..
