ocean water?

Hey guys, a co-worker and I was having a conversation and he asked me could I use real water out the ocean and since I'm still a newbie to the saltwater side I'd ask you guys

There are several people who run tanks with pumps pulling water from the ocean. Typically you'd want to go a little out from land so you're not sucking oil and other pollutants from boats, ect...inside the channels. But it's been done either way.

Yep it is done... I have read some coastal aquariums dont even have much filtration... Just constant "new" water.

That would be kinda sweet basically free natural seawater
