I have the old ARC server that the club has kept to try to pull the old data from the previous site if at all possible. I have made a few attempts, but I can't get the server to boot. The server doesn't like the RAM, but if I remove and reseat it will temporarily move past it. At that point, the messages indicate a bad raid controller battery and possibly 1 bad drive. I believe the raid is 7 drives. If there is anyone that knows server environments or repair please contact me.

I'm a software engineer, mostly do front-end development, but I have some experience with things like Proxmox, TrueNAS, various Linux systems, PostgreSQL, and PC hardware (building, upgrading, troubleshooting). I could give it a shot if nobody more qualified (sys admins / IT) volunteers. Do you know what OS/software the old server was running?

IF it will power on and spin up the drive(s) - I can get in to it.

I'll be too busy with work for the next month or so.

I'll take a look at it if you still want to try after that.

The symptoms you are mentioning above do not sound promising to be honest - it really depends on how the server was configured and the actual state of that RAID controller & drives.
