I have a *little* hangup with these because they are wild collected, and SO many Tridacnids can be captive raised now, including maximas. But they are Gorgeous.

I agree with panda on this one - I hate the fact that they're wild caught. If I knew there were some kind of export restriction for aquarium trade, I'd be a lot more happy about it.

Granted, I still want one. Or two. Hopefully the price will make them more exclusive to those who those who have been in the hobby and know what they are getting.

The price is going to be HIGH. Im expecting $300 and up. blue Zoo Aquatics has already sold some (with no QT), and DFS LA should ahve some available in a few weeks.

How ever they will not likely to farm those beauty because Pearl is more profitable. Just like shrimp and other seafood, local will consume it no mater how pretty they are. Don't get me wrong, I do not judging the local. For them these seafood are like fried chicken here.

On Travel Chanel, I saw Andrew Zimmerman from bizarre food eat 14-16 inch Giga. That was sad.

Yeah, I watched that same segment and wondered how much that clam was worth.

Looks like Diver den has them now but extreme corals had them for the best price.

$400 is to high for me but nice clam.

I think that was just an example... not necessarily one that Live Aquaria sells.
