One Nice Reef Tank

Dave-Thank You-I loved both tanks-The first tank was very different than any I've seen(I know it's a "Sales Tank") I have watched the video several times and each time I see corals that I didn't notice before, so many beautiful animals, in one tank. How many dives would it take to find that many coral? The PE on the acros was amazing. My tanks are mixed and I could never get that kind of movement without damaging my LPS. Thanks, Holley

Hi Holley,
IMO that tank is really atypical of what you might see in a reef, but the colors are amazing. WWC concentrates on what is really colorful and unusual, since that is what sells, so what they have is a concentration of corals that are cherry picked from wholesalers, or gotten from others that have had them for a while, etc so to me, that tank kind of represents their "best of the best," or "what sells the best."

One nice thing is that probably 95% (guess) at least of the corals in that tank came as frags from other tanks, so they probably didn't pull (m)any corals directly from the reef for that display.

Still haven't been to that place in awhile. Dave if ya go in person I'm a good halfway point to stop at.
Here is the tank that gets my heart pumpin. Can't wait to see it grown out

Let's see if we can please Jeremy and Daniel with this one of the 1200 gallon Rocky Mountain Reef. This one is a peninsula, like yours, Daniel. It is about a year old, I think. Saw this one on Reefbuilders.

That is Steve Hurlock's tank, who is a friend of mine. This tank is actually 2 years old, but the corals came from a much older 600 gallon reef it replaced. The even cooler part is that this 1200g sits 5 feet away from another reef aquarium of his, a 700-gallon bowfront. And all of it sits at 8000 feet above sea level, in the mountains. It was his tanks, and another Colorado friend's, that redefined the word "colony" for me. If you can pick it up with one hand, it's still a frag!:)
