Opening an online coral store

Hello all, I haven't posted on here before but thought many of you may have thought about going down this road. I was recently medically retired from the Army and have decided to pursue an online collectors Coral store. I have the set ups to handle this but am wondering if there is more needed then a tax ID and business license. I already have a few wholesale companies willing to sell to me once I get the tax ID, so that's not an issue. Since it is strictly Coral do I need to have an inspection done for small animal sales? If I decide to do this from home do I need to have the zoning office look over this plan? I know that a lot of wholesale companies will not sell to home ran companies, but it is not an issue I have a few lined up. Thank you in advance for your knowledge.

I believe you have to get a license from the State and I want to say it's the DNR but I can't swear to that. Contact JennM....she can direct you.

I know a bit about this from research and talking to some lfs owners.

To buy from wholesalers you just need your tax ID usually. You do have to have a pet retailer lisence for coral, which includes the inspection. What I don't know is if that applies to if you sale strictly online, but I would assume so. Although from what I've heard the lisence is inexpensive and the inspection is not really a big deal. I think it's more in place to regulate the selling of mammals, not coral.

That's a very nice set up. How many tanks do you plan on having? Are you planning on growing out your frags, or just getting them from wholesalers and reselling?

I have two other tanks, one my 60 cube, will be strickly zoas and palys and the other, my 50 gal, will be a qt and have a lot of clean up crew for any sick or algae infested corals. I plan on doing both. I plan on going out colonies and dragging from them, but I want to get wholesale so I can buy colonies.
