No the first one. A guy in Australia got permission to collect them some and the pair live aquaria got if from that offspring.
At least that the story i heard.

As someone who paired these fish, they are VERY difficult to pair up. They are very aggressive and regularly beat each other up, even to death. They are, without a doubt, the most difficult clowns to pair that I have worked with. Youngsters like that are gonna be tough to get to a breeding pair.

Edit:

They have been bred successfully prior a few times. In fact, all the fish that we will ever see are captive bred. None of us will likely ever see a live wild caught MCC ever.

chris at einstein aquatics has a gorgeous pair at his shop...they are huge too alot larger than i expected them to be

Edit: he says they lay eggs every few weeks i believe , he just doesnt raise them

They might be affordable soon. ORA breeding means that eventually they'll be available to the masses.

I know they are rare but is that enough to make them so desirable? IMO they are not even pretty.

They have that pug characteristic. So ugly it's cute. My girlfriend adores them. I'll probably end up getting her a pair this coming year regardless if ORA breeds them or not.

Not necessarily. Remember, they have a deal with Live Aquaria who know very well the value of these fish in keeping them in small numbers. Also, they aren't the easiest fish to breed/raise. They have had difficulty with the numbers; they're just not producing like ocellaris do.

Brutally ugly, but rare so they have the cool factor. And not just regular rare either; they can't be collected wild rare: that has bonus points associated with it :)

But in the end your right. But you have to think, having 1 more pair can mean everything. 1 in a million now becomes 1 in 500,000, than 1 in 250,000. The probability of these becoming available to everyone maybe slim now, but not in maybe let's say the next few years (5+). Hard doesn't mean impossible. Think about sps 5-8 years ago. Heck think about Xenia - few years back, 100 a stalk!!! Platinums were close to 800-1000 a pair.

And I have my tank dream!!! Stop trying to pee in it you!!

I have seen Chris's and Jeremy's pair and I think they are beautiful. I could only wish to own a pair.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder..... And I agree.
